The peace and quiet of this grassland, interrupted only by the scream of a hunting hawk or the bawling of a wayward calf, make a stay in the grassland a nice break to the stress of fast moving traffic or a stress filled lifestyle.

Westbound on Interstate 90 in Lyman County, South Dakota. – Kennebec is barely visible in the distance (run your mouse cursor over the picture). I had really hoped to get some good shots here, because I had always liked the view of Kennebec from this location. It probably would have looked a lot better near sunrise or sunset, also if I had not been driving while taking them.

Both of the Dakotas are very pretty – black hills, bad-lands, etc. If you’re into the outdoorsy stuff the I would definatly suggest seeing it. However, from my experience, there wasn’t a whole lot else to do. Be sure to look for jackalopes and visit Wall Drug as well!
