Pacific Chorale Launches New Choral
May 20th, 2012

Santa Ana, CA (PRWEB) May 08, 2012

Pacific Chorale begins its newest education and community program?Choral Advantage?August 6?12, 2012 in association with California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). Sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, Choral Advantage is a one-week choral music intensive for high school students focused on building a strong understanding of music theory and vocal production. Taught by distinguished faculty from CSU Fullerton?s College of the Arts?Dr. Robert Istad and Dr. Christopher Peterson?along with several professional singers and educators, students will be introduced to choral music literature and sing in large and small ensembles during the week. Choral Advantage will conclude with a performance showcase on Saturday, August 11 at CSU Fullerton?s campus, highlighting the students? entire week?s work. Student registration for Choral Advantage is now available online.

Dr. Robert Istad, Director of Choral Studies from CSU Fullerton states, ?Choral Advantage will be an incredible opportunity for young singers by giving each singer the opportunity to couple a life-changing musical experience with world-class instruction in musicianship and voice training.? Each day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., students will attend classes in voice to improve their singing technique as well as attend music theory/musicianship classes to improve upon music reading and artistic understanding. Electives of various topics will also be offered for students to explore their own unique musical interests.

?Students attending will amazed by how much fun it is to sing with others who share their passion for choral music,? says Dr. Christopher Peterson, Professor of Choral Music Education at CSU Fullerton. ?They will grow as musicians, and will be able to express their musical creativity in many ways. The friends they make, and the musical skills they will develop, will make this incredible week the highlight of their summer. It’s not just another choir, but choral music education experience that they will cherish for a lifetime.?

Crossing Over With Country”s Foremost Psychic Medium John Edwards!

John Edward established himself as the first clairaudient to have his own show that featured deceased loved ones contacting audience members: “Crossing Over with John Edward” on the Sci-Fi Channel. John Edward McGee Jr., (born October 19, 1969 in Glen Cove, New York), better known as John Edward, is a television personality and performer who claims that he is a psychic medium who can communicate with the dead.

Today, John is one of the country?s foremost psychic mediums and author of the critically acclaimed New York Times best sellers One Last Time; What if God Were the Sun; Crossing Over: The Stories Behind the Stories, After Life: Answers from the Other Side, Final Beginnings and most recently Practical Praying: Using the Rosary to Enhance Your Life.

John?s broad appeal has led to two international Australian tours and guest appearances on everything from CNN?s Larry King Live to The Today Show. He is a regularly featured guest on top rated morning radio shows, including New York?s WPLJ and Los Angeles? KROQ. His many television appearances include Entertainment Tonight, Live with Regis & Kelly, The Early Show, The Crier Report, The Tony Danza Show, The View, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, Fox and Friends, Maury, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Wayne Brady Show, Dateline, ABC?S 20/20 and the critically acclaimed HBO Special, Life After Life; America Undercover. He recently had a cameo appearance on NBC?s Will and Grace. John has been featured in articles in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, Newsday, People, Entertainment Weekly and in the Associated Press.

Born and raised on Long Island, NY, John exhibited psychic abilities from an extremely early age, and was deemed “special” by many in his family. The fact that he would uncannily know family history and events that took place prior to his birth solidified that fact. Because no fuss was made over these early experiences, he maintained as normal a childhood as possible. Since Psychic Phenomena was so accepted by his family, it was easy for his abilities to flourish. John embarked on developing his own abilities after an encounter with famed psychic Lydia Clar. Lydia made him aware of his abilities and told him his life?s work would be teaching people about it. That mission has been channeled into his work as a medium which enables him to bring comfort and hope to people by reuniting them with those who they loved, lost…and crossed over.John Edward – Official site. Features information about the medium, his website is the only official on-line source of information regarding John Edward, his schedule, tour dates, or other appearances. John and his office make absolutely no representations or endorsements of any web-sites containing information about him, crossing over, or his books. You may contact him at any time with your concerns via his site!

Newly Published Book Tells Of
May 19th, 2012

Shirley, NY (PRWEB) May 18, 2012

Author Barbara Nixon, along with her co-author Marlette ThunderHorse, tells the world of the plight of the Native Americans, particularly of those in Wounded Knee, South Dakota in Mi?taku? ye-O?yasin (We Are All Related), her first book made available through Xlibris since April 2012.

This book contains true stories that are actual depictions of fact and known instances that are either documented history or of current events, many having made it to the news. This compilation of letters, historical facts, personal knowledge, and eyewitness accounts have been placed together to construct a full and extensive written and pictorial analysis of how the Native American Indians have been slated for extinction, cunningly by their own hand, ?divide and conquer??a strategy cleverly orchestrated by the United States federal government some 500 years ago.

Readers who wish to know the truth of the plight of the Native American Indians historically, to present day, will find Mi?taku? ye-O?yasin an invaluable resource. Proponents of human rights, educators, as well as the general public and those with American Indian ancestry are strongly encouraged to partake of this knowledge as well.

This book will be featured at the 2012 Book Expo America in New York City on June 5-8, 2012.

For more information on this book, interested parties may log on to http://www.Xlibris.com.

About the Author

Barbara Nixon was born and raised in Long Island, N.Y. She lived in a culturally diverse community, which taught her to respect and embrace the differences between people. An only child at age 12, she lost her mother. During her father?s absences, working away from home for weeks at a time, Nixon discovered ?many mothers? that were willing to help raise her. Mothers of all ethnicities that would nurture her young and fragile spirit free from harm?good mothers of many different colors, races and creeds. In the years of her young adulthood, she had become a social activist for human and equal rights because of the way, and by whom she was raised, participating in many rallies, protests and 1960s gatherings such as Woodstock, the infamous four days of peace and love.

In an attempt to settle down, with much urging from her father, she got married in 1980 at age 29, a relationship that ended in abandonment 15 years later. She had two children, a daughter Kelly, and a son Matthew. Her deep involvement with Native America and the struggle for Indian people?s equality was ignited when she met Derek Whirlwind, a Native man of Mayan decent and a member of the American Indian Movement. Becoming a member of the movement in 1998, she traveled through ?Indian Country? with Whirlwind and eventually ended up in Wounded Knee South Dakota where she met her co-author Marlette ThunderHorse. The rest is history.
